The Everyday Excellence Heart and Soul award recognizes those who model professionalism, are constantly reliable, and consistently provide high quality results and service to customers.
Jennifer DePond, RN, CAMC Obstetrics and Gynecology Center, was nominated for the everyday excellence award.
The OB/GYN Center had an employee who lives alone and needed to have surgery. DePond volunteered to pick up this employee and drive her to the hospital on the day of her surgery.
DePond stayed with her, took her to fill her prescriptions after surgery and then drove her home.
During leadership rounding, the department manager frequently receives feedback from DePond’s peers that she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure her patients’ and co-workers’ needs are met without being asked for assistance. She does not hesitate to offer to cook meals for her peers if they are under the weather.
When another employee in the office was awarded emergency custody of a relative, DePond donated supplies to help the employee.
The nomination concluded by noting “Jennifer is a truly compassionate, caring individual and always displays a helpful and selfless demeanor.”
