Save time and travel with telemedicine
Telemedicine offers all the benefits of an in-person visit with your doctor -- without the travel. A telemedicine appointment is your own dedicated time with your doctor. You get the same personalized attention and excellent care without the inconvenience or expense or leaving town because no matter where you are for your appointment, we're focused on you.
CAMC offers several ways to connect with your doctor through telemedicine
1. Visit a CAMC Telemedicine Center
CAMC offers Telemedicine Centers where you can connect with your doctor through a secure, private video conference. Our Telemedicine Centers give you easy access to CAMC specialists in your community. If you don’t have the technology for a telemedicine visit at home, the ability to travel to your physician’s office, or you simply don’t have the time to drive to Charleston for an appointment, our staff can connect you with your provider quickly and easily. See our Telemedicine Center locations on a map
When you schedule your appointment at one of our Telemedicine Centers, you will meet with a nurse who will talk with you about your health and facilitate your virtual visit with your doctor. CAMC currently has Telemedicine Centers in Summersville, Ripley, Lewisburg, Princeton and Pocahontas County. If you see (or need to see) a CAMC specialist in Charleston (like a cardiologist, neurologist or urologist), ask about scheduling your appointment at one of our centers. Take a look inside one of our Telemedicine Centers and hear from our patients.
2. Schedule your appointment from home, work or wherever is convenient for you
Many CAMC physicians offer telemedicine visits. If you don't live near one of our Telemedicine Centers and you are interested in scheduling a telemedicine visit, ask your doctor. To find out if your doctor offers telemedicine appointments, look for the "Telemedicine Appointments Available" icon under their photo on camc.org.
3. Call 24/7 Care anytime for non-emergency needs
When you aren't feeling well, you can get prompt medical care via a phone call or video chat using 24/7 Care. 24/7 Care provides access to board-certified physicians, licensed physician assistants and nurse practitioners for non-emergency illnesses like colds, Covid, ear infections, sinus infections and more 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 24/7 Care providers can prescribe medications for a wide range of conditions, when needed.
To use 24/7 Care, simply download the app, set up an account, and you can request virtual visits anytime. The cost is $49 per visit for the public (most insurances accepted), and visits are free for CAMC employees and their immediate family.
